Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Andre Thompson, 47, of Newark, who was wanted for three robberies.

Thompson was arrested yesterday after being sought for robberies that occurred last Friday, April 11th, Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th. A man driving a red vehicle committed the robberies by pulling up to victims and demanding their belongings. The incidents occurred at 81 Delaney Street, 250 York Avenue and Hensler and Alyea streets.

Detectives investigating these incidents identified Andre Thompson as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of robbery and simple assault.

These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
