At 3:20 pm this afternoon, HWDPS officers were dispatched to a residence in the 18600 block of Old Homestead. Officers were advised that an elderly female was just robbed at knifepoint. The suspects entered the home and demanded money. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the subject had fled the location on foot toward Kelly Rd.
The suspect was observed by a Harper Woods patrol member, and a perimeter was quickly established. A Harper Woods K-9 track was initiated, and the suspect was swiftly apprehended without incident. During the investigation, officers recovered evidence related to the crime.
Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the HWDPS or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAKUP. Detectives are investigating.
