News Story - Bike Rodeo in Ojai

Nature of Incident: Bike Rodeo

Location: Nordhoff High School Parking Lot, 1401 Maricopa Highway, Ojai

Date & Time: 04/27/19 @ 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM

Unit(s) Responsible: Ojai Police Department

Narrative:

Do your children know the rules of the road? Are they confident in the bike riding skills? In an effort to bring our community together and enhance safety for children on bicycles, the Ojai Police Department, in partnership with the California Highway Patrol, Ojai Green Coalition, Bike Ventura, and The Mob Shop, is hosting a bike rodeo at Nordhoff High School on April 27th from 10AM-2PM.

We will have bicycle courses for children ages 6 to 14 years of age to navigate, practice riding skills, hand signals, and proper road etiquette. We will have members from the Sheriff’s Mounted Volunteer Team, the SWAT team, and a K9 officer on hand as well for the community to meet. We will also have several bicycles to raffle off and a limited supply of helmets.

See attached flyer.
