March 26th

Residential Burglary – 2500 block of Edwards Ave:
At 7:04 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered an unoccupied home and removed several paintings before being confronted by neighbors.

Identity Theft – 900 block of Galvin Dr:
At 1:28 pm, an officer reports the victim received a letter from a law office in Texas demanding money for services which the victim had never received.

Shoplifting – 10680 San Pablo Ave (O'Reilly's):
At 7:09 pm, an officer reports a male suspect entered the business and stole several auto repair items before fleeing the store.

DUI – Cutting Blvd/ San Pablo Ave:
At 10:16 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 33-year-old male for driving while impaired. The man was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a promise to appear.

Theft, Identity Theft, Fraudulent Use of Access Cards – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 11:35 pm, an officer reports the victim left their wallet behind at the store and later learned their access cards had been fraudulently used at several local stores. A review of the video surveillance footage showed a male suspect picking up the victim’s wallet and exiting the store.

March 27th

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 3:47 pm, an officer reports two women entered the store and selected approximately $600 worth of alcohol before fleeing.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Barrett Ave:
At 10:41 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 23-year-old man for a warrant during a traffic stop. The man was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a promise to appear.

Unlawful Discharge a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm – 2000 block of Key Blvd.
At 12:33 am, an officer reported hearing the sound of gunfire and began to investigate. Officers located an 18-year-old man nearby and determined he had just discarded a loaded firearm which had been reported stolen from a nearby city. It appears the man had fired the weapon into the air several times and there were no injuries reported.

March 28th

Identity Theft – 10394 San Pablo Ave:
At 12:47 pm, a Community Service Officer reports the victim received a letter which indicated she had failed to make a payment on a loan. The victim learned that a loan had been added her account without her permission.

Grand Theft – 7200 block of Fairmount Ave:
At 4:18 pm, a Community Service Officer reports the theft of $1000+ worth of electronics from the backpack of a student.

Shoplifting – 10794 San Pablo Ave (Marshalls):
At 9:23 pm, an officer reports the citizen’s arrest of a 31-year-old man who was detained by security after leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. The man was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a promise to appear.

Stalking, Disobey a Court Order – 6500 block of Donal Ave:
At 12:44 am, an officer reports the victim received numerous threatening texts from her ex-boyfriend whom she has a restraining order against.

DUI – San Pablo Ave/ Panama Ave:
At 1:26 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 23-year-old woman for driving while impaired. The woman was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a promise to appear.

March 29th:

Recovered stolen vehicle – 11565 San Pablo Avenue (Walgreen’s):
An officer spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department driving through the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 30th:

Auto Burglary - 11780 San Pablo Ave:
At 1:05 pm, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary that just occurred. The suspect, a male wearing a multi-color jacket, broke the window of a vehicle and stole cash.

Shoplifting –10794 San Pablo Ave (Marshalls):
At 4:05 pm, officers were dispatched to Marshalls regarding a theft. An officer located the suspect, a 36-year-old Oakland woman nearby. She was identified, placed under citizen’s arrest, booked, and issued a citation.

Shoplifting - 670 EC Plaza (CVS):
At 4:58 pm, an officer responded to the report of a subject pushing a shopping cart full of property from the store. The subject, a 29-year-old Oakland man, was located nearby and placed under citizen’s arrest. He was field cited.

March 31st:

Brandishing a Deadly Weapon – 11939 San Pablo Ave (Home Depot):
At 2:28 pm, ECPD units responded to the report of about fifteen males fighting in the parking lot of the Home Depot by the garden center. Officers responded and discovered that an unknown male broke several beer bottles and threatened the victim. He fled before the officer’s arrival.

Auto Burglary – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza (Macaroni Grill):
An officer responded to the report of an auto burglary that occurred earlier in the day. Someone smashed the window of a vehicle and stole property from the car.

April 1st

Vandalism – 500 block of Kearney Street:
At 11:03 am, an officer reports the victim’s estranged husband keyed the victim’s vehicle then left mementos from their wedding on her vehicle. The victim was fearful and believed the suspect was stalking her. The reporting officer obtained an emergency protective order to prevent the suspect from having contact with the victim.

Shoplifting – 10794 San Pablo Ave (Marshalls):
At 5:05 pm, an officer reports a man entered the business and removed merchandise before being detained by loss prevention.

Shoplifting – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:12 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the front and rear license plate to a vehicle which had been parked in the shopping center parking lot.

Warrant Arrest – 9895 San Pablo Ave.
At 7:11 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 60-year-old man who had a warrant for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 10794 San Pablo Ave (Marshalls):
At 7:58 pm, an officer reports a 44-year-old man was detained for shoplifting and placed under citizen’s arrest. The man was issued a citation and released from the store.

April 2nd

Stolen Vehicle – 2600 block of Brooks Ave:
At 8:45 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect took the victim’s vehicle sometime in the morning.

Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1:10 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 30-year-old male from Santa Cruz after he fled the store with unpaid items. The male was detained, and during the investigation, it was discovered the male had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. The male was cited for the shoplifting and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for the warrant.

Warrant Arrest, Possession of Controlled Substance – BART Path/Hill St:
At 3:25 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 39-year-old man on an SF County warrant. The man was also in possession of a controlled substance. The man was booked then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 3rd

Grand theft – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 12:04 pm, an officer reports sometime over the last two weeks, an unknown suspect removed a fabricated bumper off a van parked in a dealership lot.

DUI – San Pablo Ave. / Eureka Ave:
At 1:51 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 58-year-old woman for driving while under the influence. The woman was later issued a citation and released.

April 4th

Auto Burglary – 11100 San Pablo Ave:
At 4:08 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger window of the victim’s van and removed a large number of cigarette cartons. The suspect then got into an awaiting vehicle and fled the area.

DUI Collision – San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 8:27 pm, an officer reports a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway causing the pedestrian to have to be transported to a local area hospitl. The driver, a 66-year-old male, was determined to have been driving while impaired and was arrested. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
