Pyro Has Gone Home To Recuperate!

The Green Bay Police Department Family is ecstatic to be able to announce that Pyro was able to return home over the weekend! Although he still has a lot of recovering and recuperating to do, he has passed his first major hurdle and has been cleared to convalesce at home with his handler and family. Because he is still healing, there was no ceremony or pomp and circumstance with him checking out of the Animal Referral Center. Pyro still needs to be kept calm and keep excitement to a minimum, but with all that said you can see how excited he was to get back in his squad car.

We have been stunned and overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who have written cards, sent donations, given treats, or otherwise shared their good wishes for Pyro, but we are only able to share so many examples. We are tremendously grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. We have placed photos and video from Pyro’s special check out on our department Facebook page to share with all of you who have expressed so much love, interest, and concern for Pyro. You can also see a few of the many cards and gifts people have sent. We will continue to share updates on Pyro periodically, but for now we are so thankful that he is at home resting.
