* At 347 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms with a history of producing wind damage and exhibiting weak rotation were located along a line extending from near McLeansville through 6 miles southwest of Elon College to 8 miles east of Randleman, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Burlington, Graham, Mebane, Elon College, Gibsonville, Haw River, Swepsonville, Alamance, Lake Burlington and Lake Cammack Park & Marina.

Instructions:
Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris generated by damaging winds can be deadly. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
