In an effort to connect with residents, the Borough has opted to utilize Nixle.  Messages relative to Community activities will be conveyed through Nixle, in addition to the Police and Emergency Alerts. Since the onset of the Nixle initiative, messages have been sent concerning the Residents “At Risk” Program, the availability of flu shots through the Health Department, and recently messages regarding Recreation programs.

Hopefully, if you are a Nixle subscriber who signed up for the text and email messages, you received the above noted messages. IF YOU DIDN’T RECEIVE THE MESSAGES YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:

A. Contact Nixle at 877-649-5373, and follow the voice prompts for residential issues. Nixle personnel with assist you. 

B. Follow the below instructions for getting into and navigating your Nixle account.

1. Search Nixle login.
a. Enter your phone number or email address  
b. Enter your password*
* If you don’t have, or remember your password, text 888777 and enter the word PASSWORD in the message block and follow the prompts. IF YOU ENCOUNTER A PROBLEM call 877-649-5373, and the voice prompt for residential issues

2.  Click Settings, or go to the bottom left side of page & click on DESKTOP VERSION and then go to Settings (see attached screen shot).

3. Directory and Subscription page (see attached screen shot).

a. Ensure the block for River Edge Borough (also River Edge Police and OEM) have check marks for category (subscribe, emails, and SMS messages to mobile phones).
 
b. Ensure SMS category shows alerts, advisory, and community. If the three message types aren't noted, click on the block with message (see attached screen shot). Pick the block with the three message types (Alerts, Advisory and Community) and save.
