Juvenile Gang Member arrested with gun and narcotics by Major Crimes Task Force

Crime:

  • 11370.1(a) HS Possession of a controlled substance while armed
  • 25850(c)(3) PC Gang member in possession of loaded firearm
  • 25850(c)(6) PC Carrying a loaded unregistered firearm
  • 11378 H&S Possession of controlled substance for sales

Name withheld due to age - 16 Year Old Pomona Resident

Narrative:

On Wednesday, April 10, 2019 around 7:49 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) and the California Highway Patrol were partnered up, and working a gang suppression detail within the City of Pomona. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mission Blvd and Oak St. for a vehicle code violation. Officers made contact with the Suspect and the Suspect told Officers he had a gun under his leg. Officers quickly took him into custody and recovered a loaded revolver where he was seated. The firearm found was unregistered and this Juvenile is a known Pomona gang member.

Officers then obtained a search warrant and served the warrant at the juvenile’s residence. Inside of the Juvenile’s room additional ammunition and narcotics were located.  

In the last 10 days the Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force has recovered 7 guns off of gang members.

He was arrested and booked on the above charges.
