CRIME ALERT - Residential Burglary & Auto Theft in Eastbluff (RD 36)

2500 Block of Bunya St. (19-2447)
Occurred between: 4:00pm on 4/2/2019 and 6:30am on 4/3/2019
 
After parking their vehicle in the garage, the victim forgot to close the garage door. At some point during the night, an unknown suspect entered the open garage and rummaged through one of the vehicles that was unlocked. The suspect then entered the second car through an unlocked door, discovered the key in the center console and drove off with the vehicle & the property inside the vehicle.
 
Loss: Vehicle, Key, Wallet, Garage Door Remote

Garage & Vehicle Security Tips

  • Always close your garage door & keep the pedestrian door locked.
  • Lock you vehicle even when you park in the garage.
  • Do not store car keys in or near the vehicle even when parking in your garage.
  • Lock and secure all doors and windows to your vehicle every time you park.
  • Remove all valuables from your vehicle even when you park inside your garage.
  • Treat your garage door opener as if it were a key to your home and remove it from your vehicle when not parking in your garage.
