21 year old Driver Arrested for DUI Following Fatal Collision

On 4/9/19 at about 2am, our Emergency Dispatch Center received a call of a rollover car crash on E.Bidwell Street at the intersection of College Parkway Drive. The caller said he had been in the vehicle, and said he thought one of the other occupants might have died. Folsom Police and Folsom Fire Department rushed to the scene. They determined there were 5 total occupants in the vehicle, a silver Subaru Forester. Four of the occupants were transported to local area hospitals with moderate injuries, and are expected to make a full recovery. Tragically, the front seat passenger, a 28yo man from Cameron Park, was declared deceased on scene. Folsom Police Major Accident Response Team responded to conduct the collision investigation.

All outbound lanes of E.Bidwell Street, from Oak Avenue Parkway to Nesmith Court, remained closed to traffic for several hours while M.A.R.T. conducted their investigation. We appreciate the patience of the community during this closure, and know it affected several hundreds of people on their morning commute. It is critical to close the roadway to ensure we preserve any and all evidence, and to allow our M.A.R.T. Team to conduct a thorough investigation, safely.

The M.A.R.T. team determined the vehicle left the roadway, struck a light post, and flipped on its roof before coming to rest. A witness said the vehicle looked like it was speeding just before the crash. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Alexis Little 9/26/97 (of Citrus Heights). Officers noted that LITTLE displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and the investigation revealed that LITTLE was likely impaired.    As a result, LITTLE was placed under arrest for suspected driving under the influence of alcohol, and for vehicular manslaughter. LITTLE booked into the Sacramento County Jail. A booking photo of LITTLE is attached.

Out of respect for the victims and their families, the other names are not being released at this time. The Folsom Police Department extends our condolences to all families of everyone involved in this collision. This tragedy is an important reminder to commit to remaining sober while driving. There are so many ride-share options available, driving while impaired should never be an option.

Drive safe.
