Deputies recover stolen property from a burglary in Chino Hills and arrest Zachary Newton
DATE/TIME: Monday, April 8, 2019, 3:56 p.m.
INCIDENT: Possession of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm and possession of stolen property
LOCATION: Tipu Tree Lane and Quail Country Avenue
SUSPECT: Zachary Newton, 26-years-old, resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): People of the State of California and Richard Sands of Chino Hills
SUMMARY:
On Monday, April 8, 2019, at approximately 3:56 p.m., deputies with the Chino Hills Station contacted Zachary Newton parked in a vehicle in a residential neighborhood near the intersection of Tipu Tree Lane and Quail Country Avenue. During the contact, Newton was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and methamphetamine. Newton was also in possession of stolen property from a theft from a vehicle that occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in Chino Hills. Deputies were able to return the stolen property to the owner.
Zachary Newton was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for being in possession of a loaded firearm, methamphetamine and possession of stolen property.
