INCIDENT:  2019-7436  Possession of  a Controlled Dangerous Substance (PCP) and DWI
 
DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  3/16/19  at  2:52 PM
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  U.S. Route 1 and Carnegie Center Blvd.
 
WHO:  Arrested: Taneena M. Diaz, White female, 38 years old
                Resident of New Brunswick, NJ 08901

DETAILS:  Ptl. LaTorre was detailed to a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 1 involving a black Chevrolet SUV which struck the rear of a Ford sedan. During the investigation, the driver of the black Chevrolet, Taneena Diaz, was found to be disoriented/confused, and determined to be DWI. Diaz was also found to be in possession of liquid PCP. Diaz was transported to the hospital as a precaution. At the hospital, she was released from custody pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Buchanan investigated the theft of a purse where the following was reported: The victim was smoking outside the restaurant with a friend and placed her purse onto the ground next to her. After smoking, she realized that her purse containing $500 in cash had been stolen. The victim said she observed a white male with brown hair wearing a blue baseball cap seated on bench nearby when she started smoking, but both he and her purse were gone.

WHO:  Arrested: Marquitta E. Diggs, Black female, 39 years old
                Resident of Fayetteville, NC 28304

DETAILS:  Ptl. Buchanan initiated a stop on a red Dodge wagon for driving in the left lane, failing to stay within its lane of travel, and for improper use of a turn signal. During the stop, Marquitta Diggs was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing under 50 grams of marijuana, two small plastic bags containing MDMA powder, a THC/marijuana oil vape cartridge, and various paraphernalia used to ingest CDS. Diggs was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to the Target store for four females who were shoplifting as a group. Prior to police arrival, the four females attempted to exit the store but were detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation determined the following: The four women entered the store with only one (Soto-Fuentes) with a handbag.  The four females went to the handbag section where the three other ladies selected handbags from the display and proceeded to remove the tags from the bags.  Soto-Fuentes concealed a small purse inside the handbag she had brought with her.  Soto-Fuentes, Glover, and McRae continued to select merchandise throught the store & concelead it within their handbags.  Jones, Glover, McRae, and Soto-Fuentes were processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  3/15/19  at  2:44 PM (Reported 3/19/19)
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Hertz Kiosk located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel

DETAILS:  Sgt. Loretucci investigated the theft of a motor vehicle from Hertz where the following was reported: An individual rented a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox valued at $33,818.20, using what was later determined to be a fake South Carolina driver’s license and fraudulent Visa credit card on March 15, 2019. The vehicle was entered into the National Crime Information Center database as stolen. On March 20, 2019, NYPD recovered the stolen vehicle at 11:50 PM in Jamaica, NY. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was 29 year old Desean Delva of Jamaica, NY and he was arrested by NYPD for being in possession of the stolen vehicle.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Erkoboni was detailed to the Southfield Center parking lot for a welfare check on a male asleep in his vehicle who would not wake up. During the investigation, Justin Veno was found to be in possession of “Quick Fix Plus”, a synthetic urine which he admitted that he intended to use to pass an employer administered drug test.  Veno was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to a shoplifting at Target. When officers arrived, Target Asset Protection had already detained Sharmell Speed for removing 19 video games (valued at over $1,000) from the security boxes that they had been in, and concealing them into her coat pockets. She was also in possession of a security key device that she used to open the security boxes. Speed was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to Wegmans for an uncooperative shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation determined that Raj Bhatia concealed seven packages of butter and various produce (valued at $101.79) under his jacket, and left the store without paying for the items. After being confronted by Asset Protection, he denied shoplifting and refused to return the items he stole. Bhatia was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Sgt. Loretucci was detailed to Target for a shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation determined that Ella Janvier selected a backpack while in the store, and then proceeded to conceal several articles of women’s clothing into it. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the backpack or any of the clothing inside it. Janvier was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  3/22/19  between  9:45 PM – 11:30 PM
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Brick House Tavern, 3569 U.S. Route 1

DETAILS:  Ptl. Robles investigated the theft of a wallet and car keys from the Brick House Tavern. According the victim, she hung her zippered purse over the chair she was sitting on. When she went to leave she saw that her purse was now unzipped and her wallet and car key fob were missing. Her credit cards were used at Wegmans to purchase several hundred dollars worth of gift cards. A server at the Brick House advised Ptl. Robles that a black female in her 40’s, wearing a white baseball cap, was standing around where the victim was seated, but not associated with any of the nearby tables. When the server asked the suspect if she needed assistance, she pretended to be talking on the phone, and the server knew this because the phone started ringing while it was up on her ear.

Suspect: White female, 23 years old

DETAILS:   Ptl. Silcox was detailed to an assault in the parking lot of the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant. Investigation determined the following: The victim had just parked her car when her young daughter opened the car door into another car that was parked next to her. The owner of that car was seated inside and got out, and unkind words were exchanged between both parties. This culminated in the owner of the car that got hit, smacking the victim on the side of the head.
