Police Activity in the area of Washington Blvd and Atlantic Ave.
Today, at approximately 8:00 am, the Culver City Police Department received a call of an unknown subject armed with a gun in the area of Washington Blvd and Atlantic Ave.
Upon officers’ arrival in the area, it was determined that a domestic dispute had occurred between a male and female. According to the on scene investigation, a local armed security guard tried to intervene during the domestic dispute. The male suspect armed himself with a knife and engaged the security guard. During the altercation between the security guard and the male armed (knife) suspect, the security guard discharged his firearm. No one was hit by gunfire and all involved parties were detained by our officers, without further incident.
The female involved in this incident is being treated for minor injuries, which she sustained during the domestic dispute.
No officers discharged their weapons during this incident.
The area of Washington Blvd and Atlantic Ave is currently shutdown due to the ongoing investigation.
