Low stratus clouds have begun to dissipate across the central portion of Illinois. As mid and upper level clouds diminish upon arrival, clearing skies will allow current dense fog to spread and thicken. Current visibilities across the advisory area range from less than 0.25 miles to 5 miles. Conditions are expected to worsen through the early morning. The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning.
* VISIBILITY...Visibilities currently are being reported around 0.25 mile in some locations, and are expected to worsen through the early morning.
* IMPACTS...Main threat will be to roadways overnight into the morning.
