Illegal gaming casino shut down by Major Crimes Task Force

On Thursday, April 4th, the Pomona Police Department Major Crimes Task served a search warrant at 1470 W. Holt Av. Through gathered intelligence and an investigation, a warrant was obtained to address an illegal gambling casino operating at this location where several gang members congregated.
As officers executed the search warrant, they encountered three people who were living out of the business. Once everyone was safely detained, officers went inside the business and located an active casino equipped with various slot machines and gaming devices.
This location has been a public nuisance and several calls for service. Several gang members have been stopped leaving the “Casino.” Several of those people stopped leaving the “Casino” have been arrested for narcotic violations, Firearm violations and driving stolen vehicles.
This investigation is still on going and anyone with information is encouraged to contact “Crime Stoppers.” The Pomona Police Department is dedicated to addressing quality of life issues.
