Flood Watch until 12:00AM Friday

Several rounds of heavy rainfall are expected to pass through the watch area through the evening hours. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flood Watch FOR portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the following areas, in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Orleans, Southern Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge. In Mississippi, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.

* A stalled warm front along the I-10 corridor will allow several rounds of heavy rainfall to train over the watch area through the evening hours. Average rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected, but a localized areas of up to 7 inches will be possible through this evening.

* People in the watch area should continue to be aware of the possibllity for heavy rainfall. Avoid low lying areas and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio...commerercial radio or television stations...or your cable television provider for further details or updates concerning this potential flood situation.
