Arrested: Ferrer, Ervin 38 year old resident of Hayward
Charges: Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession of Concealable Firearm in a Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a firearm by gang member, Possession of ammunition by felon, identity theft, possession of burglary tools, probation violation, attempting to destroy evidence and felony evading.

Narrative: On April 04, 2019 at about 2:34 AM the Emeryville Police Department attempted to make a traffic enforcement car stop. The suspect, Ervin Ferrer, was driving at a high rate of speed and running through red signal lights. Ferrer failed to yield to the patrol car's lights and sirens. Ferrer drove his vehicle onto the 24 freeway where he threw a backpack onto the freeway. Ferrer continued to flee until the Broadway Ave. off ramp where he stopped his car. Ferrer was placed under arrest for evading. The backpack was recovered from the freeway. The backpack contained a stolen loaded firearm, identity theft indicia and burglary tools. Ferrer is a convicted felon. Ferrer was arrested for the weapon possession charges, possession of burglary tools, identity theft and probation violation.
