Volunteer of the Year Award - Explorer Aaron Gittens
Each year, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors celebrates exceptional and passionate volunteers who contribute their talents to support Los Angeles County departments, and in doing so, impact our communities and constituents. The celebration honors 50 County volunteers for their giving spirits. This year our very own Explorer Aaron Gittens was honored with the award of Volunteer of the Year.
Aaron Gittens has been a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Explorer Program for the past 18 months. During this time, he completed the comprehensive 18-week academy program. Aaron received accolades for earning the highest academics in a class of over 100 youths. After graduating from the Explorer Academy, he served as an explorer at the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station, where he aided those communities. Aaron can be counted on to volunteer for any assignment, often with little notice. He always displays a helpful and compassionate demeanor and loves to give back to his community. Mr. Aaron aspires to become a Law Enforcement Officer, and the department thanks him for his tireless efforts.
