Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on April 2, 2019 at approximately 1307 hrs his deputies responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Redfield Rd and Ironwood St. in Milton Twp. Niles, Mi.. Investigation of the crash showed that a vehicle driven by Richard Scott (76 years old of Granger, IN.) turned westbound onto Redfield Rd. in front of Marie Purucker (62 years old of Niles, MI.) who was traveling eastbound on Redfield Rd. and sideswiped Scotts drivers side of his vehicle. Scott was transported by SMCAS to Memorial Hospital in South Bend IN.. Purucker and her passenger Nancy Ducharme (82 years old of St Anne, IL.) were transported by SMCAS to St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka IN. Scott's passenger was not injured. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. Seatbelts were worn.
