On March 31, 2019, the Cloquet Police Department received confirmation from the Medical Examiner's Office that the body found on Friday was that of Dakotah Jayde Abramowski.
Abramowski, a 21-year-old man, was reported missing on February 18, 2019, by a family member. Officers learned Dakotah had not been seen since leaving an apartment complex in the 600-block of Laurel Street on January 5, 2019.
On March 29, 2019, at approximately 2 p.m., officers from the Cloquet Police Department responded to a call in the 700-block of Poplar Avenue of someone lying on the ground in a yard.
Upon arrival, officers found what appeared to be the body of a man on his back in the snow in a semi-wooded backyard. Officers determined the man was deceased at the scene.
The location where Abramowski's body was located is less than 500 yards from where he was initially reported missing.
The cause of death and toxicology reports are still pending.
This is an ongoing investigation, and the Cloquet Police Department will continue to follow-up on information regarding the circumstances surrounding Abramowski’s death.
