Freeze Watch until 09:00AM Monday

Very light or calm winds, combined with good radiational loss under the center of High Pressure overhead, will set the stage for an extended period of sub-freezing temperatures late Sunday night and early monday morning. Several fruit trees and row crops are currently at or near critical stages of development and will be impacted by the cold temperatures. The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Freeze Watch, which is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday morning. This Freeze Watch covers all of west Kentucky, and most of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and southwest Indiana.

* TEMPERATURE...expected to drop below freezing late Sunday evening and fall into the upper 20s after midnight, remaining below freezing until shortly before 9 am CDT Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Commercial and private fruit trees, as well as some early season row crops may be damaged due to the extended period of sub-freezing temperatures.
