Irish Road Race Weekend Downtown Road Closures Sat.March 30th (8:30am - 2pm) & Sun March 31st (10am - 2pm) - Seek Alternate Routes

    The Manchester Police Department would like to advise you of three events that will affect traffic on Elm St, Chestnut St and in the surrounding areas Saturday, March 30th  & Sunday, March 31st, 2019:

Temporary Manchester Transit Authority Bus Pick Up locations:

Friday, March 29th@ 1PM- Lake Ave next to the SNHU Arena
Saturday March 30th – Chestnut St in front of Hillsborough County  Superior Court House.

     The Citizens Bank Shamrock Half Marathon, The Citizens Bank Shamrock Shuffle, and the Annual Manchester St. Patrick’s Day Parade. These events will bring an estimated 6,000 visitors to Downtown Manchester.

    Saturday, March 30, 2019: Citizens Bank Shamrock Half Marathon Many of the roads will close intermittently throughout the course of the day as a safety precaution for the participants. The Manchester Police Department and Millennium Running have worked to have secured course marshals to assist local residents on the course with navigation through road closures.
Estimated impact times are attached however Elm St from Pleasant St. & Central St will be closed from Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2PM until the conclusion of the St. Patrick’s parade Sunday, March 31, 2019.
**NEW FOR 2019** – The race route for the Citizens Bank Shamrock Half Marathon has been adjusted to significantly alleviate traffic stresses on the City of Manchester. With the new layout, Canal Street becomes unaffected and residents between Canal St and Elm St will be able to freely come and go from Downtown Manchester via the Canal St, Queen City Bridge,Granite St and Amoskeag Bridge. Residents of River Road will also see significantly less impact from the event.
     Sunday, March 31, 2019:
 The Citizens Bank Shamrock Shuffle will precede the Manchester St. Patrick’s Day Parade beginning at 11:10 AM.
This event will cause several different road closures, which are as follows:
+Elm St between Pleasant St. & W. Merrimack St. (12:00AM - 12:00PM)
+Elm St (North) between Pleasant St. & Central St. (12:00AM - 12:00PM)
+Elm St between Merrimack St. & W. Pennacook St. (11:00AM - 12:00PM)
+W. Pennacook St between Elm St. & Canal St. (11:00AM - 12:00PM)
+Canal St (North) between W. Pennacook St. & Spring St. (11:00AM - 11:40AM)
+Spring St between Canal St. & Elm St. (11:00AM - 11:30AM) +W. Bridge St (East on Bridge)     between McGregor St & Elm St. (11:00AM - 11:30AM)
+W. Bridge St (East on Bridge) between McGregor St & Elm St. (11:30AM –2PM) redirected to Canal St via Plaza Dr.
MANCHESTER ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE:
Elm St between Granite St & Webster St. (12PM – 2PM)
