Deputy Robert MacKenzie Awarded The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Legendary Lawman Award

On March 27, 2019, Walnut Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station Deputy Robert MacKenzie was recognized with the Legendary Lawman Award, which he received from Sheriff Alex Villanueva. The Legendary Lawman/Lawwoman Award is granted to employees who have spent ten or more years of their career in a patrol car responding to calls for service.

Deputy MacKenzie joined the Department in July 1989. After graduating from the academy, he was assigned to Pitches Detention Center. In January 1997, he arrived at Walnut Diamond Bar Station as a patrol trainee. During his time at Walnut Diamond Bar Station he worked hard and eventually promoted to Field Training Officer. Currently, he is assigned to the Special Projects Team, where he has worked for the past eight years. Deputy MacKenzie has received many commendations during his years of service.

The inspiration to create the Legendary Lawman pin was a result of the line of duty death of Deputy David Powell, who served the community of Lakewood as a Patrol Deputy for over 10 years. Only deputies who have worked 10 or more years in uniformed patrol are eligible to wear this pin, and there is also a 20-year pin.

Congratulations to all LASD personnel who received the Legendary Lawman/Lawwoman Award.
