Incident:                  Driver Arrested for DUI and Felony Hit and Run
Report Number:          19-1133
Occurred Date :           March 22, 2019
Occurred Time:          7:02 PM
Location:                    North McDowell Blvd at Rainier Avenue, Petaluma
Suspect(s):                  Scott Ingerson, 45 year old, Petaluma resident

Incident Summary

On the above date and time, Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to a traffic collision involving three vehicles on North McDowell at Rainier Ave.  Officers arrived on scene and were told a vehicle had fled the scene.  Officers determined that Suspect Ingerson was driving northbound on North McDowell and struck a Toyota pickup that was stopped for the red signal traffic light.  The Toyota was struck in the rear and was pushed into the rear of a VW SUV, that was also stopped at the traffic light.  Three children and an adult female in the SUV had complaints of pain to their shoulders.

Officers searching the area of the collision found Ingerson’s vehicle parked several blocks away on Lassen Drive.  Ingerson’s Hyundai sedan had sustained major front-end damage.  Ingerson’s vehicle was unoccupied, so officers began to search the area further.  K-9 Officer Joerger spotted Ingerson on McDowell Blvd and attempted to contact him.  Ingerson fled on foot, but was quickly located by another officer.  Ingerson was placed under arrest for Felony Hit and Run.  Ingerson displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol.  The arresting officer conducted a DUI investigation and determined Ingerson was DUI.  A preliminary blood alcohol content reading showed he was a .29% BAC.  Ingerson was transported to County Jail for booking.

All of the parties in the collision were released from the scene and no one was transported to the hospital.
