Sheriff’s Office Releases Names of Detectives Involved in Shooting

Modesto CA – The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two Detectives involved in a shooting on March 21st, 2019 that occurred near the intersection of Orangeburg and Carver Road, in Modesto. Detective David Corder is a four year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and Detective Christopher Gallo is a ten year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. Both Detectives are assigned to the Sheriff’s Team Investigating Narcotics and Gangs (STING). Both Detective Corder and Gallo will be performing administrative duties until the initial investigation of the shooting is completed.

“Any time our Deputies are involved in a shooting, it affects the community, the Deputies, and the family of the suspect,” said Stanislaus County Sheriff Jeff Dirkse. “Our goal is to be transparent, honest and efficient for the benefit of the community we serve and those affected by this incident.”

The incident is being investigated by the Modesto Police Department and Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation.
