Missing Laumaka work furlough inmate Robert Yamaguchi arrested.

The Department of Public Safety can confirm that missing work furlough inmate Robert Yamaguchi was arrested by Honolulu Police today.  He left the Laumaka Work Furlough Center at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19.  He was not authorized to leave. Once processed he will be returned to Public Safety custody.  We want to thank the Honolulu Police Department for their assistance in returning Yamaguchi to custody.

Yamaguchi is serving time for Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle, Promoting a Dangerous Drug, Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Bail Jumping. His next parole hearing is scheduled for August of this year. He faces an additional escape charge.

Yamaguchi is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
