At 925 PM EDT, rainfall was continuing to fall in the warned area. An additional one-half inch of rain is expected through the overnight hours. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Frederick, Hagerstown, Thurmont, Charles Town, Emmitsburg, Shepherdstown, Ballenger Creek, Brunswick, Walkersville, Ranson, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Braddock Heights, Paramount-Long Meadow, Wilson-Conococheague and Williamsport.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
