River Edge is committed to finding communication mediums to keep residents informed, not only concerning police alerts and emergency situation updates, but also regarding a new initiative to provide newsletters related to Borough activities, programs, etc.  For example, recent Nixle messages were sent by the Recreation Department concerning upcoming programs; the Health Department sent a message advising of the availability of flu shots, and the OEM sent a message concerning the At Risk Resident program.  Unlike the emergency alerts that come via text message, the Community messages are disseminated by email.
