South Brunswick Township is advising of an ongoing problem with Gmail accounts receiving email from South Brunswick Township. Township officials are unclear if the problem is more widespread then just our Township. Ron Hoffman the Township Information Manager explained that people have been calling to report that they have not received a correspondence from various Township departments. After some research the IT Department learned emails to Gmail accounts were going into spam folders not their incoming mail.

Mr. Hoffman said they have made multiple attempts to resolve the problem but no one from Gmail is getting back to them.  There is a concern for Gmail users to check their spam accounts on a daily basis to make sure other important emails are not being lost.

Mr. Hoffman said the Township will continue to work to get Google to respond and identify the problem, but wanted to alert residents in case this is a bigger issue for Gmail.

NOTICE: THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH BRUNSWICK IS HAVING PROBLEMS SENDING EMAILS TO GOOGLE GMAIL ACCOUNTS AND ANYONE USING GOOGLE GMAIL WITH THEIR OWN PRIVATE DOMAINS.

OUR EMAILS ARE NOT GETTING REJECTED BUT THEY ARE GOING IN TO THE RECIPIENTS SPAM FOLDER. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT GOOGLE ABOUT THIS BUT WE HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED ANY REPLIES FROM THEM.

AS A RESULT, WE ARE ASKING THAT ANYONE WHO USES GOOGLE FOR THEIR EMAILS OR AS A SERVICE PROVIDER AND HAS CORRESPONDENCES WITH THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH BRUNSWICK TO PLEASE CHECK THEIR SPAM FOLDER FOR POSSIBLE EMAILS.

UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED YOU COULD KEEP CHECKING THE SPAM FOLDER OR YOU CAN PUT A FILTER ON YOUR ACCOUNT TO ALLOW OUR EMAILS TO GO IN TO YOUR INBOX.
