Single Vehicle Crash

Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports that on March 17, 2019 at approximately 13:29 his Deputies were called to a single vehicle traffic crash on M 40 south near Spatterdock Lake St in Porter Twp. 63 year old Randy Wilson Riley was traveling northbound on M 40 when he's vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Riley was treated at scene and transported to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries. A seatbelt was worn and alcohol dose not appear to be a factor. The traffic crash is still being investigated. Also assisting at the scene was Newburg Fire and EMS.
