EOE  CDL preferred.

Hours 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, M-F, 40 hour work week. Must be available for alternating Saturdays 9 am - 1 pm OT and on call for emergencies. The annual salary range is $30,000 to $34,935. 

POLICE DEPARTMENT:

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD - The Borough of Waldwick is accepting applications for Full Time School Crossing Guards.  The essential functions of a crossing guard can be found here.  Interested candidates are required to complete an employment application and submit to Patrick Wherry, Borough Administrator, 63 Franklin Turnpike, Waldwick, NJ 07463. Hours 1-1.5 hours in the morning and 1-1.5 hours in the afternoon.  The annual salary range is $9,509 - $10,564.

CENTENNIAL EVENTS - Kick-Off Centennial Ceremony & Celebration will take place on Sunday, April 7 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Train Station.  The event will begin with a brief ceremony followed by the opening of the Museum with special exhibits displaying the 100 Year Story of Waldwick as well as Food Trucks and Music.  If at all possible, please walk to the event.  This is the first of many events planned throughout the year to celebrate our Centennial.  As events are planned, we will update you on the details.

WALDWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT AUXILIARY FISH & CHIPS DINNER - NEW PICKUP SCHEDULE - will be hosting their Annual Fish & Chips Dinner on Friday, April 12.  Fish & Chips or Chicken & Chips will be available with coleslaw and dessert.  Tickets are being sold for two pickup sessions.  5:30 pm - 6:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Waldwick Fire Department, 15 East Prospect Street. Tickets should be ordered in advance (by Monday, April 8th) and are available from any Waldwick Fire Department Auxiliary member or by contacting Mary Ellen O’Connell 201-788-1169  [email protected]

WALDWICK WELLNESS DAY - In celebration of National EMS Week, WALVAC is hosting the Second Annual Waldwick Wellness Day on May 19 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Train Station.  This is a community event aimed at promoting healthy living and providing local resources that the community can access.  There will be games and crafts for kids, tours of our ambulances, giveaways and display tables where residents can interact with local businesses and public health orgnaizations.

Safe on Your Feet: A Dynamic Talk and Exercise Experience
The Waldwick Board of Health and Higher Fitness and Wellness, LLC, present “Safe on Your Feet”, a dynamic talk and exercise experience about how we age. The event will take place Wednesday, March 27th, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Tamaron Association Clubhouse, 8 Tamaron Drive, Waldwick, NJ. Please note, parking is available in visitor spaces, along the north side of Tamaron Drive and on Chestnut St.
 
Participants will learn movement lessons to signal their bodies to stand up straighter and move with greater ease as well as tips to prevent falls.  Presented by Jennifer Wilshaw, ACE Certified Fitness Specialist, this free wellness experience is open to all ages and fitness levels.  Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. No slip-on shoes.

Rosa Parks: First Lady of Civil Rights
Thursday, April 4, 7:00 pm
On a December day in 1955, tired seamstress and NAACP secretary Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery Alabama Bus. Her story will serve to remind all who hear it that we cannot always stand by and observe the status quo. This is a fully costumed, first person historical interpretation. This program was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
