SCAM!
Forest PD took report today of a resident receiving a call from the Social Security Office informing them that there was a problem with their Social Security Number and all SS functions will stop unless you speak to a representative. The caller ID will show a government number. They are very persistent, but this is a SCAM in an attempt to obtain personal information.
Social Security WILL NEVER call with any issues. They will send documentation by mail. DO NOT give release any personal/private information to these people.
If you receive one of these calls, DO NOT give out any information and contact the Inspector General's Office at 1-800-269-0271
