Areas of dense fog will be possible along the southeast Louisiana and Mississippi coasts, land areas near bodies of water such as Lake Pontchartrain, Mississippi River south of Baton Rouge, and the Mississippi Sound. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 10 AM CDT Monday.

* VISIBILITY...One quarter mile or less at times.

* DURATION...Until late morning.

* IMPACTS...Motorists are advised to use extreme caution and allow for additional travel time. Use low beams...reduce driving speed and allow for plenty of room between other cars as vehicles and other objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range. This fog will adversely affect Monday morning commute.

* AFFECTED AREAS: LOWER PLAQUEMINES ... HARRISON ... ASSUMPTION ... UPPER JEFFERSON ... ST. CHARLES ... JACKSON ... ST. JAMES ... UPPER PLAQUEMINES ... ST. TAMMANY ... UPPER ST. BERNARD ... LOWER ST. BERNARD ... UPPER TERREBONNE ... ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST ... ORLEANS ... HANCOCK ... LIVINGSTON ... ASCENSION ... LOWER LAFOURCHE ... LOWER TERREBONNE ... UPPER LAFOURCHE ... LOWER JEFFERSON ... A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
