Semi-Tractor/Trailer Crash With Injury; M-60/Timberlane Dr, Newberg Twp, Cass County, MI
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a single vehicle crash on M-60 just west of Timberlane Dr, Newberg Twp, Cass County, Michigan. This crash occurred on 03-10-2019 at approx. 0547 Hrs.
Emergency Personnel arrived on scene and found that a east bound Semi-Tractor/Trailer had crashed on the south side of the road, spilling approx. 100 gals of Fuel and Oil. The Driver of the truck was Katharine Marie Aris, 50 Yrs of Ypsilanti, MI. Aris was travelling to Detroit, MI when she fell asleep and crashed. Aris was transported to Kalamazoo for injuries sustained in the crash. Aris was wearing a seatbelt at time of incident and alcohol/drugs does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
The Sheriffs Office was assisted by Newberg Fire/Ambulance and Life Care Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
