WALDWICK COUNCIL-COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLE
The first in a series of Council-Community Roundtables will take place on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 am at the Waldwick Library, George Fredricks Meeting Room.  

Representatives of the Council Greg Bjork and Don Sciolaro will be present to provide an overview of recent activities and events.  They will answer questions and address issues of concern.

Please note:  The entire Council will not be present as this is not permitted by State law.  No pre-registration is required.  All walk-in welcome.

TOWNWIDE GARAGE SALE - SAVE THE DATE!

CENTENNIAL EVENTS - Kick-Off Centennial Ceremony & Celebration will take place on Sunday, April 7 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Train Station.  The event will begin with a brief ceremony followed by the opening of the Museum with special exhibits displaying the 100 Year Story of Waldwick as well as Food Trucks and Music.  If at all possible, please walk to the event.  This is the first of many events planned throughout the year to celebrate our Centennial.  As events are planned, we will update you on the details.

THE WALDWICK BAND WINTER CONCERT SERIES - The Winter Concert Series continues with a FREE performance on Sunday, March 10, 2:30 pm at the Village School, 100 W. Prospect Avenue.  Fun for all ages with a variety of music styles.

BEGINNER TO WALDWICK 5K (B2W5K) kickoff meeting will be held on March 4, 7:00 pm at Fit 36 and the program begins March 12.  Visit the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for complete details.

E-CIGARETTES AND VAPING:  What You Need to Know
The Waldwick Board of Health and the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission will host an informational sesson on e-cigarettes and vaping on Tuesday, March 12 at the Waldwick Public Library, 7:00 pm.  Health Educator Chantal Folkes topics will include the basics of e-cigarettes, vaping in the community, NJ vaping laws and the long-term health effects of smoking.  The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes and is free of charge.  Registration is recommended but not required.  Please call 201 445-7217 ext. 201 or [email protected] to reserve your seat.

Small Group Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities
The Waldwick Board of Health and the New Jersey Transportation Independence Program (NJTIP) at Rutgers will host Small Group Transportation Instruction for Seniors and People with Disabilities, a program to develop independence and self-sufficiency for people with disabilities, older adults and others by empowering them to use the public transit system safely and independently. The event will take place Wednesday, March 13, 2019, 12:00 pm, Tamaron Association Clubhouse, 8 Tamaron Drive, Waldwick NJ. Please note, parking is available in visitor spaces, along the north side of Tamaron Drive and on Chestnut St.
 
Participants will learn how to safely navigate public transportation, including bus, train, light rail, county and private systems. They will also learn how to read bus and train schedules, plan trips, pay fares and take safety precautions.

Safe on Your Feet: A Dynamic Talk and Exercise Experience
The Waldwick Board of Health and Higher Fitness and Wellness, LLC, present “Safe on Your Feet”, a dynamic talk and exercise experience about how we age. The event will take place Wednesday, March 27th, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Tamaron Association Clubhouse, 8 Tamaron Drive, Waldwick, NJ. Please note, parking is available in visitor spaces, along the north side of Tamaron Drive and on Chestnut St.
 
Participants will learn movement lessons to signal their bodies to stand up straighter and move with greater ease as well as tips to prevent falls.  Presented by Jennifer Wilshaw, ACE Certified Fitness Specialist, this free wellness experience is open to all ages and fitness levels.  Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. No slip-on shoes.
