Changes are being made to South River’s emergency phone notification system. Further details, instructions on how to enroll your phone number with the new system and information on other ways to stay informed can be found below.
 

Emergency Phone Notifications: Emergency phone notifications from the Borough of South River are changing from the previously used CodeRED system to the NIXLE platform, where they will be streamlined with South River Police Department’s existing text and email notifications. Phone numbers previously enrolled with CodeRED will NOT be automatically enrolled with the new system. If you wish to receive or continue to receive emergency phone notifications, you will need to enroll your mobile or landline phone number with NIXLE. Emergency phone notifications are used only occasionally for extreme circumstances and urgent notifications. They are not a replacement for NIXLE text and email notifications.
 
Text Message Notifications: NIXLE text message notifications from the South River Police Department remain unchanged. You will continue to receive them if you are already enrolled. We use these for important information such as road closures, crime alerts, utility disruptions, school closures, special events, weather alerts and more.

Email Notifications: NIXLE email notifications from the South River Police Department remain unchanged. You will continue to receive them if you are already enrolled. We use these for important information such as road closures, crime alerts, utility disruptions, school closures, special events, weather alerts and more.

It is important to keep in mind that our social media is not constantly monitored but we do read comments and messages as soon as we can. Any incidents, concerns or requests for assistance should be reported by dialing 732-238-1000 for non-emergencies or 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
