SPD will have extra officer enforcing traffic violations and tailgating this afternoon. 
Good morning! This afternoon the Sheboygan Police Department will have extra officers on the road enforcing traffic violations. Specifically we will be targeting drivers who are tailgating, and we don’t mean people cooking brats in the Lambeau Field parking lot. State statute 346.14 (1m) reads, “The operator of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicle and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.”
What does this mean? It means that you should leave adequate distance between your car and the car in front of you so that you can stop without hitting the car if need be. Please give yourself extra distance between cars when you are driving and keep you attention on the road.
