Jackson police have charged Antonio James with First-Degree Murder in the shooting death of his mother, Ermateen James.
Around 6 p.m., March 5, 2019, Officers responded to a shooting at 239 Highview Street. Ermateen James, 52, was found unresponsive, inside her home with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators developed the victim’s son, Antonio James, 37, of Jackson, as the suspect. Investigators received a tip about where James could be found. Around 10 p.m., James was located at a home on the 100 block of Tomlin Street in Jackson and taken into custody.
Antonio James remains in custody at the Madison County Jail and is scheduled to be formally arraigned March 7 in Jackson City Court.
