Petaluma PD Launching Historical Project Showcasing Our Service To The Petaluma Community Since 1858
Petaluma PD is in the process of compiling photographs related to the great history of our department going back to our founding in 1858. Currently, we have over 6,000 photographs some of which date back over 100 years. The goal is to showcase this history with the public and our staff by displaying images throughout our building and on our social media accounts.
We are seeking the assistance of community members to grow our collection. If you or anyone you know have photographs related to Petaluma Police Department we would love for you to send it to us or allow us to copy/photograph them by bring them into the department. Our request is not limited to photographs as we would greatly appreciate seeing any badges, patches, uniforms, or other memorabilia. We would also accept these items if you are willing donate them to the department. Over the years we have been lucky to receive Ike jackets, badges, patches, code books, etc. Other historical items are currently on display in the Petaluma Museum.
If you wish to send photographs to the department via email please send them to Kate McCoy at [email protected] and any details such as date of photograph, location, and officers depicted would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to sharing the progress of this project with the community!
