**UPDATE** Suspect arrested in Port to Port Import/Export Shooting from Feb 26

On February 26, 2019 at about 3:00 PM, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Heritage Oak Court in reference to a fight between two subjects, one of which reportedly had a handgun. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that during a fight between two employees, the suspect employee presented a handgun and pointed it at the victim. At some point during the altercation, the suspect turned the gun towards an unoccupied vehicle that was associated with the victim and fired one shot striking the vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene.
On March 5, 2019, the suspect Christopher Besu (29) of Sylmar, turned himself in to SVPD Major Crimes detectives. Besu was arrested for outstanding warrants related to last week’s shooting. Besu will be booked at Ventura County Jail on charges of 245 (a)(2) PC – Assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm, 28900(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm, and 594(b)(1) PC – Vandalism.
