Weather Advisory- East Kern Deserts

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM PST THIS EVENING THROUGHWEDNESDAY MORNING 

The National Weather Service in Hanford has expanded the

 

 

* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of central California,

including the following areas, Indian Wells Valley and

Southeastern Kern County Desert.

 

 

* From 7 PM PST this evening through Wednesday morning

 

 

* Moderate to heavy rain can be expected tonight through Wednesday

morning. From one half to over 1 inch of rain is forecast over

much of the Kern County Desert.

 

 

* The heavy rain will lead to rising waters in normally dry

streams and flooding of low lying areas through Wednesday

morning.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS 

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

 

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
