Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Tuesday
As a cold air mass moves into the area, the temperature will drop to near or below freezing across much of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Due to recent warm temperatures, much of the area's vegetation has already begun to grow again, and some sensitive plants may be damaged by the freeze. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Tuesday.
* TEMPERATURE...Upper 20s to lower 30s
* DURATION...6 to 10 hours across southwest Mississippi and the northern Florida Parishes. 3 to 6 hours along the I-20/12 corridor.
* IMPACTS...Due to recent warm temperatures, much of the area's vegetation has begun to grow again. Sensitive plants may be damaged by the freeze.
