Harris County Sheriff’s Office/City of Houston Expand My Brother’s Keeper Services to Children of Incarcerated Parents
What: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Houston are expanding a partnership that is helping children of incarcerated parents overcome the unique challenges they face.
In 2017, the Sheriff’s Office and Mayor Sylvester Turner’s My Brother’s Keeper Program launched the Project Hope effort to offer wrap-around services to children of incarcerated parents, focusing on the Wheatley, Kashmere Gardens and Scarborough communities.
Working with Wellspring Family and Community Institute, the program provides comprehensive assessment services and case management to children of incarcerated parents.
