Last night, Clayton County Police along with Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Windwood Drive to a person shot call and found Dey Tu Amun shot multiple times including a gunshot to his head. Dey was pronounced dead on the scene. County Police Homicide Detectives arrived on the scene and determined that Kashad Holmes was the shooter and that the dispute was over a woman with whom Holmes and her share a child. Holmes said he was going to kill himself after shooting Dey and fled the scene in a vehicle. County Police Homicide Detectives obtained a arrest warrant for murder for Holmes shortly thereafter.
After arriving on the scene, Sheriff Victor Hill called in his elite Fugitive Squad to hunt for Holmes and the trail led them to Cobb County. At around 3am Holmes wisely walked into the Cobb County jail and informed them that Clayton County was looking for him for murder. Cobb County notified the Fugitive Squad who was already in the area and they took Holmes into custody at their jail.
