Canadian high pressure will settle into the Southern Plains Monday night into Tuesday morning. This will allow some very cold air to filter into the area. Temperatures are expected fall below freezing across interior Southeast Texas and Central Louisiana by midnight, reach the upper 20s to around 30 by Tuesday morning. A total of 6 to 8 hours of below freezing temperatures is possible. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Freeze Watch, which is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday morning.
* TEMPERATURE...Very cold temperatures expected with temperatures falling to between 26 and 30 degrees by early Tuesday morning, with 6 to 8 hours of below freezing temperatures.
