Location: McNear Avenue at Petaluma Boulevard South
Suspect(s): Callie Johnston, a 22-year-old Petaluma resident
Petaluma PD officers were dispatched to a two vehicle, airbag deployment collision in the area of McNear Avenue and Petaluma Boulevard South. Upon arrival, officers determined there were no injuries. While obtaining statements, officers detected the odor of alcohol from one of the drivers, identified as Callie Johnston.
A DUI investigation was initiated, Johnston displayed signs of impairment, and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI. Her blood alcohol concentration was just under twice the legal limit of .08%. Her vehicle was towed from the scene, and she was eventually released from the Petaluma Police Department with a citation to appear in Sonoma County Superior Court.
As always, the Petaluma Police Department reminds you to drink responsibly and to use either public transportation or ride sharing if you have been drinking. A DUI will result in suspension of your driving privilege, increase in insurance premiums, and well over $10,000.00 in fines, not to mention the risk to life and property.
