Advisory

** Snow Warning ** 6-8" by 5am 3/4. Heavy snow, poor visibility after 5pm.

Welcome to March. Roar!!!
I have watched the totals go from 1 to 2 inches to 6 to 8 inches. Snow will begin after 1 or 2 pm today with heavy snow falling from 5 pm on. All of the snow should be done by 5am. Based on the Winter storm warning, snow miser is putting on one last show before his brother heat miser takes over.
Please use extreme caution and avoid travel during snow fall and after 5pm. This gives the plows a chance to clear roads and doesn't tie up officers when cars get stuck.
I would head out early today to get your fluffernutters, test the snow throwers and generators and activate the Teen w/Shovel App. (Remember, you can use multiple apps or borrow someone else's Teen w/Shovel App).
Your Olaf index is an 8 !!! Please remember to clear the closest fire hydrant before the fun stuff.
Safety 1st!!! - If rain mixes into the forecast by AM, remember this can create a hidden layer of ice which will make travel dangerous in the AM. Officers will be out 24/7 monitoring roads and bridges and working with the road crews to report on hazardous conditions. (Chase is on the Case!!)

Stay safe & warm
Chief Garofalo

Important Info from NOAA:

 A significant winter storm will affect much of the area this afternoon into early Monday morning. Total snow accumulations increased along the Interstate 95 corridor and eastward toward the New Jersey coast. While the wintry precipitation ends before the Monday morning commute, hazardous conditions should still be occurring.
 The greatest uncertainty continues to exist near and just southeast of the Interstate 95 corridor, with a mix of sleet and even a change to rain for some areas. There could very well be a much tighter gradient in the snow accumulations from near Interstate 95 to the south and east.
 Snowfall rates (1 inch per hour): Snow, or a combination of snow and sleet, may accumulate in a short period of time, quickly leading to hazardous road conditions.
 Heavy rainfall is possible farther to the south and east, including central to southern Delmarva and southeastern New Jersey. Localized flooding may occur.
 Spotty minor tidal flooding cannot be ruled out in portions of coastal New Jersey and Delaware on Monday morning.
