A fast-moving, but impactful, weather system will bring a period of moderate to heavy snow Saturday evening through Sunday morning. The snow will be followed by breezy conditions, some blowing snow, and dangerously cold wind chill values.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches expected, with wind gusts to 30 mph. A band of heavier snow may lead to locally higher amounts nearing 6 inches across portions of the Advisory area.
* WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas.
* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to noon CST Sunday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slick and snow-covered roads. Areas of blowing snow could reduce the visibility even further. Sub- zero wind chill values can be expected Sunday morning.
