February 18th

Trespassing and Probation Violation Arrest – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 7:41 am, an officer placed a 30-year-old male under citizen’s arrest for trespassing after the male was found in a vacant apartment by a maintenance worker. The male suspect was also on felony probation for stalking. The male was booked at the ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle – 6900 block of Portola Dr:
At 8:50 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s pick-up truck. The theft occurred sometime between 6:00 pm on February 17th to 8:30 am on February 18th.

Robbery – 5020 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 4:30 pm, an officer reports the victim was seated outside Panda Express and approached by a group of juveniles. Two of the juveniles brandished handguns from their waistbands and demanded the victim’s cell phone. The victim ran inside the business, sat down, and placed his cell phone on a table. A female juvenile, who was with the group, went inside, grabbed the victim’s cell phone and they all fled eastbound through the parking lot.

Attempted Carjacking – 6500 Fairmount Ave:
While officers were enroute to the above robbery, a second victim called 911 to report that while he was sitting in his parked vehicle, with the engine running, the same group of juveniles surrounded his vehicle, reached through his driver side window and attempted to remove the keys out of the ignition. The victim exited his vehicle and chased several of the juveniles away. When he returned to his vehicle, another juvenile was sitting in his driver seat. The victim, and a witness, pulled the juvenile out of the vehicle and chased him away. The suspects were later apprehended by officers from the OPD for committing a similar crime within their jurisdiction. ECPD detectives responded to the OPD and interviewed the suspects.

Shoplifting – 11000 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:12 pm, an officer reports several suspects entered a business, selected numerous pieces of merchandise and left without paying.

Warrant Arrest – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza.
At 6:15 pm, an officer reported the warrant arrest of a 57-year-old man who was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 11000 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:46 pm, an officer reported two suspects selected merchandise while inside a business and fled without paying through the emergency exit.

Shoplifting – 9900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 7:56 pm, an officer reports a suspect entered the business, selected several items, and left the store with the merchandise.

Attempted Robbery – 11800 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 8:10 pm, an officer reports the victim arranged to meet with an unknown person at a local business to conduct a business transaction. While inside, the victim was approached by a suspect armed with a handgun who demanded money and property. The suspect fled after the employees started to call 911.

Shoplifting – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 4:41 am, an officer reports a suspect entered a business and left with several food items that had not been paid for.

February 19th

Grand Theft – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:24 pm, an officer reports the victim arranged to meet with a potential buyer for property she had listed for sale. While inspecting the victim’s property, the suspect fled without paying.

Auto Burglary – 6100 block of Potrero Ave:
At 8:45 pm, an officer reports a suspect broke a window to the victim’s vehicle but did not remove anything from inside the vehicle.

Robbery – 9900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 8:54 pm, an officer reports two suspects approached the victim from behind and assaulted him, and stole his property.

February 20th

Stolen License Plate – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 5:40 pm, an officer reports a suspect stole both license plates from the victim’s vehicle.

Shoplifting – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 7:43 pm, an officer reports a suspect entered a business and left with several food items that had not been paid for.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 8:33 pm, an officer reports the warrant arrest of a 30-year-old male, who was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 21st

DUI – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 8:33 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 20-year-old male who had been driving while impaired by alcohol.

Shoplifting – 11300 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 10:35 pm, an officer reports a suspect entered a business and left with unpaid merchandise.

Auto Burglary – 6000 block of El Dorado Ave:
At 10:59 pm, an officer reports a suspect broke a window to the victim’s vehicle but did not remove anything from inside the vehicle.

February 22nd

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave/Madison Ave:
At 0831 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and contacted a 27-year-old Oakland man. He was wanted on a domestic violence warrant from the Oakland PD. He was transported to the OPD and released to their custody.

Parolee-at-Large -San Pablo Ave/Eureka Ave:
At 1:08 pm, an officer a spotted a 23 year old Richmond man walking north on San Pablo Ave. from Fairmount Ave. Officers knew he was wanted by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for failing to comply with the terms of his parole. He was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

Commercial Burglary - 10000 block of San Pablo Ave:
An officer responded to the report of a burglary. Sometime during the last three days, an unknown suspect pried open the ventilation panel and entered the HVAC vents. The suspect was unable to get any further and abandoned the pipes they used to force entry. The damage is estimated at $2500.

Residential Burglary - 6200 block of Jordan Ave.
At 1:37 pm, an officer responded to the report of a security check. A neighbor reported seeing a light on inside of an unoccupied residence. A 47-year-old transient woman was located hiding under a car in the garage. She had forced entry into the residence and ransacked the interior. She was found to be on probation with several warrants for her arrest. A stolen vehicle was located parked nearby. She was arrested and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery – 6060 Central Avenue (Nation’s):
Officers responded to Nation’s for the report that someone was robbed in the parking lot. The officer spoke to the victim who said he had made an appointment to meet someone who he connected with on Offer Up to buy a laptop computer. When the suspects arrived, they pointed a handgun at the victim and stole his cellular telephone, money, and wallet from him.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Avenue at Manila Avenue:
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and found the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released to a sober friend.

February 23rd

Burglary – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 5:45 am, an officer responded to the report of an unidentified suspect climbing up to a second story balcony and cutting open the screen. Once on the balcony, the suspect stole two bicycles.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Avenue at Manila Avenue:
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and found the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released to a sober friend.

February 24th

Warrant – Central Avenue at Pierce Street:
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and arrested the driver for a felony arrest warrant from the Richmond PD. The subject was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 25th

Auto Burglary – 5200 block of Cypress Avenue:
An officer responded to the report of an auto burglary that had occurred between 4:00 pm and 4:15 pm.
