Advisory

Springfield Pike Construction Returns

Springfield Pike
The contractor continues working in the south bound curb lane in the section between Ritchie Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. They are installing new storm sewer pipe. Single lane traffic flow in this area will continue; during non-working hours they will continue to have two lanes of northbound traffic and one southbound lane open.

Next week, the contractor will be installing a manhole that will require closing three lanes of traffic; flaggers will be on site for traffic control. The closure will not happen until after 9:00 a.m. and a separate Nixle notification will go out 24 hours before this work is to be done.

The contractor will return with additional crews to complete the curb removal/installation in the north bound curb lane. Parking on Springfield Pike will be maintained in the business areas as much as possible (businesses will be notified when parking will be limited); however, the north bound curb lane will be closed to traffic. Nixle notification updates will be given if this plan changes.

Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) will start repairing the sewer in the south bound curb lane on Springfield Pike, in the 300 block, starting on Tuesday and running through Friday. The lane will be blocked/closed in this section while the work is conducted. Please use caution while driving.

If you have questions or concerns please call Terry Huxel at 513-821-3505.
